Full Throtle!

Yes, It's been a month, but I am back in full force.

Obviously, we've moved into our new house since I last posted, and I've been spending as much time as possible, turning this house into our home!

Long story short, our possession date was originally slated for June 30, ahead of schedule! Yay!!

But we were renting and our landlord was gonna charge us another half month if we weren't out by the 1st. We also had a wedding slated for the following weekend, so that wasn't going to leave enough time. I did some fast talking with the builder and they were able to grant us access to the garage on the 26th!

We crammed everything we could into the garage - there was literally not another inch we could have filled, (sorry no photos, the stressful time wasn't so condusive to photos...)and then shoved the rest into a friend's garage.

When we finally got access to the house after 5pm on the 30th, we had some friends come back, and help us move the heavy furniture into place. Since then, we've been busting our ass to get those boxes empty and things looking ship-shape.

Oh yeah, and we also slated a big house-warming party for less than 2 weeks after our move!! Now, if that's not a kick in the butt to get us unpacked, I don't know what was! We worked so hard the 2 days before the party, but it was soooo worth it!!

People couldn't stop gushing and raving about how amazing it was that we were unpacked and settled!

But we are (except for the garage - as we need to find some storage solutions), and very happy.

Our house was brand new, so it was move-in ready. But there are still lots of projects to do: we didn't have the basement finished, in hopes we could do it ourselves, for fun, as well as a way to save some cash. We have only a back fence so we'll need to finish that. As well, the builder only does the front and side landscaping, so we've got a whole backyard to do!!

So, with that said, I'd like to say, I am back in full force and ready to share our story of our first home!!
